OTTAWA (ONTARIO) ‒ Le Gouvernement du Canada a annoncé aujourd’hui un financement important pour les titulaires de chaires de recherche du Canada, y compris des sommes destinées à l’acquisition d’équipement de pointe.

Ces investissements soutiendront la recherche de 203 nouvelles et existantes titulaires de chaires. La Fondation canadienne pour l’innovation (FCI) octroie plus de 8 millions de dollars en financement d’infrastructure de recherche à 49 de ces titulaires de chaires de recherche du Canada dans 26 universités au pays. Ce financement fait partie d’un investissement total de 164 millions de dollars du gouvernement du Canada a annoncé aujourd’hui à The University of Toronto par l’honorable Kirsty Duncan, ministre des Sciences.

Chaque année, le Programme de Chaires de recherche du Canada investit quelque 265 millions de dollars afin d’attirer et de retenir certains des chercheurs les plus accomplis et prometteurs du monde. Les titulaires de chaire sont reconnus pour leur excellence en recherche dans les domaines des sciences naturelles, du génie, des sciences de la santé et des sciences humaines.
