Elizabeth Shilts

Acting Vice President of External Relations and Communications

As Acting Vice President of External Relations and Communications, Elizabeth Shilts is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in all sectors, as well as providing management and direction to the CFI’s communications and government relations activities. Her team upholds the organization’s strategic positioning in the public environment by demonstrating the value of the CFI and the impact of its investments.

Elizabeth Shilts joined the CFI in 2008 as Senior Writer/Editor and became Director of Communications in 2012. Before joining the CFI, she was a Senior Editor at Canadian Geographic magazine, where she worked for 13 years. As a freelancer she also contributed to The Boston Globe, The Globe and Mail, National Post and many other publications.

She holds a BSc in Ecology and Evolution from Western University, and an MSc in Science Journalism from Boston University.
