Christine Aquino
Vice President of External Relations and Communications

In March 2025, Christine Aquino was appointed Vice President of External Relations and Communications for the CFI.
Before joining the CFI, she spent over seven years at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) where she served as director general of the communications branch for five years, leading the team responsible for raising awareness about the organization and its people.
She directed communications at the NRC during the COVID-19 pandemic, and throughout her tenure was responsible for the NRC’s core communications assets, including branding and visual identity; digital, stakeholder and corporate communications; media relations and social media, and more.
Before joining the NRC, she spent over a decade as director of communications and public affairs at the Royal Canadian Mint where she led communications in support of high-profile initiatives such as the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games coin program, the elimination of the Canadian 1-cent circulation coin and the Canada 150 coin program. She was the recipient of the Royal Canadian Mint’s President’s Award for her significant contributions to the corporation.
She started her career working in Canadian federal politics as director of communications for a cabinet minister in various portfolios.
She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College in Ottawa.
