Caroline Boudoux, fibre optics visionary
Caroline Boudoux is co-founder of Castor Optics, a company in Montréal, Que., that specializes in the fabrication of custom fibre-optic components and modules. She is also professor of engineering physics at Polytechnique Montréal, where she leads the CFI-funded Laboratory of Optical Diagnoses and Imagery. Beyond her research, academic and entrepreneurial endeavours, she has authored textbooks for engineering students and PhD candidates, aiming to guide the next generation of engineers and researchers.

Frédéric Leblond, cancer diagnostics innovator
Frédéric Leblond is co-founder of Reveal Surgical, a company in Montréal, Que., and a physicist who is passionate about improving cancer treatments. Inspiration for his work began at Polytechnique Montréal in the CFI-funded Laboratory of Optical Diagnoses and Imagery. Later, he and his partner developed the Sentry technology, which uses an optical phenomenon called Raman scattering to identify cancerous tissues during surgery. This innovation allows for more precise surgeries, which reduce recurrences of the disease and improve patient outcomes. Their work also stimulates economic development and medical innovation in Quebec.

Sean Tassé, construction pro
Sean Tassé is founder and vice-president of LEMNY in Montréal, Que. As a project manager in construction, he carries out multi-residential projects for real estate developers in Quebec. While he was earning his engineering degree at École de technologie supérieure, he spent time in the CFI-funded Products, Processes and Systems Engineering Laboratory. Now a lawyer and engineer, he is an entrepreneur at heart. He has built and developed businesses, gaining expertise in construction law. As an innovator and an invested partner, he is determined to elevate his ideas and projects to new heights.
