OTTAWA, ONTARIO — The Canada Foundation for Innovation is pleased to welcome Dr. Christopher Mushquash as a new Board Director.
Joining a renowned group of Canadians representing academia, industry and the public and non-profit sectors, Dr. Mushquash was appointed by the Members to the CFI Board of Directors for a three-year term. The Board of Directors reports to Members — a higher governing body similar to a company’s shareholders, but representing the Canadian public.
Dr. Mushquash is Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Mental Health and Addiction and the Director of the Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research at Lakehead University. He is also Associate Vice President Research at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and Chief Scientist at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute. In addition to his academic appointments, Dr. Mushquash is a registered clinical psychologist providing assessment, intervention and consultation services for First Nations children, adolescents and adults at Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.
