CFI launches 2022 College Fund competition
OTTAWA, ONTARIO —To help address the social, business, health or environmental needs of our society, it is essential that Canadian colleges have the research equipment and laboratories they need to support collaborations with a range of public, private or not-for-profit partners.
Today, the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) launched its 2022 College Fund competition to support applied research and technology development by investing in research infrastructure at colleges across the country.
The College Fund aims to:
- Create and enhance partnerships with the public, private or not-for-profit sectors that lead to innovation. These innovations must address social, business, health or environmental needs of a Canadian industry or community;
- Enhance and optimize the proven applied research capacity of the college that is related to the proposed applied research or technology development activities;
- Generate social, economic, health or environmental benefits locally or nationally including the development of highly qualified personnel.
Ultimately, the collaborations created through this fund will contribute to fostering a stronger Canadian economy and healthier, more sustainable communities.

Deadline to submit notice of intent
The deadline to submit notices of intent for the College Fund competition is April 7, 2022.
Register for an information session
The CFI will present the details of the call for proposals for the 2022 competition and provide an opportunity for potential applicants to ask questions at two virtual information sessions.
Register for the French information session at 1:30 p.m. (EST) on February 15
Register for the English information session at 1 p.m. (EST) on February 16
