The Canada Foundation for Innovation welcomes new Board Director and Members
OTTAWA, ONTARIO — The Canada Foundation for Innovation welcomes several new appointments to its Board of Directors and Members governing bodies.
Ian Seymour was appointed by the Members to the CFI Board of Directors, joining a distinguished group of Canadians representing academia, industry and the public and non-profit sectors. Seymour, former Secretary-Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for the Institute for Sustainable Development in Winnipeg, Manitoba, will serve for three years.
The Board of Directors reports to a higher governing body made up of our Members, prominent individuals who represent the public and have a deep understanding of research and its impact on society. Members are nominated and appointed for a five-year term.
The CFI also welcomes four new Members:
- Elizabeth Douville, General Partner, GeneChem (Quebec)
- Joanne Gassman, Retired Senior Vice President, BMO Bank of Montreal Financial Group (British Columbia)
- Marilyn Luscombe, President and CEO, New Brunswick Community College (New Brunswick)
- Luc Vinet, Professor of Physics and Former Rector, Université de Montréal (Quebec)

In addition, Margaret Bloodworth and Ingrid Pickering have been reappointed as Board Directors for a second three-year term, and Emőke Szathmáry has been reappointed as a Member for a second five-year term.
