Essays by Leading Canadian Researchers
Innovation Powers our Lives
Dr. David Strangway, President and CEO of the Canada Foundation for Innovation and Editors James Downey and Lois Claxton are proud to announce the launch of inno'va-tion and inno'v@-tion2: Essays by Leading Canadian Researchers. This collection of essays is a Canadian first and showcases the cutting-edge work of 33 researchers in their field. The launch will take place in Ottawa at a National Press Club Newsmaker breakfast, followed by a celebratory lunch at the National Arts Centre.
This project began two years ago with David Strangway’s vision—to tell Canadians about the world-class research taking place right here in Canada. Today, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the editors and the researchers who were identified with the assistance of the federal granting councils, the vision has become a reality. The Canada Foundation for Innovation is pleased to feature this collection of essays that illustrates and celebrates these 33 unique individuals whose research is helping to transform Canada into one of the most innovative countries in the world.
These stories of investigation, discovery, and accomplishment showcase how Canadian research is helping to improve our quality of life, today and for future generations.
